Pathways for Pilgrims is a document that was given to all Sandhurst WYD08 pilgrims, which suggests ways for young people to become more involved in their church and faith. This includes websites, events, contact people in the Diocese, prayer options, social justice opportunities, theology courses and more. This resource is a great guide for any young person who wants to get active and explore their faith.

Miss that WYD buzz? Miss hanging out with a bunch of people where it’s easy to be Christian? Miss hearing great bands and teaching? You don’t have to wait for 2011 in Madrid…….

Black Stump is a Christian festival of music, arts and teaching, held every year in Sydney. It generally attracts around 5000 people, and has a similar “vibe” to World Youth Day, though obviously on a smaller scale, and in an ecumenical environment. It’s the 3rd – 6th of October 2008,

Sandhurst Youth Ministry are taking a  minibus through the diocese, then up to Sydney, offering 11 places to people 16-25ish to attend Black Stump this year. Applications close 26th August.

Mary Magdalen was a woman who longed for love and acceptance, searching for a place to belong. Luke says that she was cured of seven demons (Luke 8:2), so it was likely that she was not accepted by the society of her time. And having seven demons, she probably didn’t have too many healthy normal friendships with people.
