If your parish has decided to start a youth group, then this "How to.." guide from the Archdiocese of Melbourne is a good companion resource to help you in planning and preparation. For an broader view of the different types of youth ministry and information on other types of gathered and non-gathered minsitry, please refer to 'Pathways for Parishes'.
Pathways for Parishes is a companion document to Pathways for Pilgrims. It is a guide to different resources and programs available to parishes and groups who are looking to be involved in youth ministry, as well as models of ministry that can be employed.
The Parish Priest and Parish Council will need to nominate a person to be the coordinator of the Parish Youth Ministry Planning Team. The Coordinator’s role is to liaise between the priest, council and the planning team and to coordinate the activities of the Planning Team.
Once the role is understood and accepted, they can form the Parish Planning Team.
